Frequently asked questions
Do my images get uploaded anywhere?+
No — flipping happens entirely in your browser using the canvas and image-decoding APIs already built into it. Your image is never sent to a server.
What's the difference between flipping and rotating?+
Flipping mirrors an image across an axis (like a reflection) without changing its width or height. Rotating turns the image and can swap its width and height. For a 90°/180°/270° turn, use Image Rotator instead.
Can I flip both horizontally and vertically at once?+
Yes — toggling both is equivalent to a 180° rotation, and you'll see the combined result in the live preview before applying it.
Can I change the format while flipping?+
Yes — the same output-format and quality controls as the other Image Tools are available here, including a warning if converting a transparent PNG or WebP to JPEG.
