Base64 to Image

Paste a Base64 string or data URI and convert it back into a downloadable JPG, PNG, or WebP file, directly in your browser.

About Base64 to Image

Paste a Base64-encoded image — a full data:image/...;base64,... URI, or just the raw Base64 payload — and convert it back into a downloadable JPG, PNG, or WebP file directly in your browser.

If your Base64 string doesn't include the data:image/...;base64, prefix, pick the intended format above so the decoded bytes are labeled correctly.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the full data URI, or just the Base64 payload?+

Either works. Paste a full `data:image/...;base64,...` string and the format is detected automatically; paste just the raw Base64 payload and pick the intended format from the dropdown instead.

Does my pasted data get uploaded anywhere?+

No — decoding happens entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste here is sent to a server.

I pasted a Base64 string but got an error — why?+

Either the text isn't valid Base64 (check for missing characters or extra text pasted alongside it), or it decoded successfully but the resulting bytes aren't a real, renderable image — for example if the wrong format was selected for a raw, prefix-less payload.
